"Esther is always supportive and upbeat. She's always happy and she laughs at my jokes even when they're not funny. It's so great that people are recognising how hard she works. There's really no way to sugar coat it!" - Luke Jacobz ("Home and Away" colleague)

Esther the same, at home or away
Fame hasn’t changed Esther Anderson’s outlook on life. The Geelong-born actress is the same happy, bubbly person she was as a child growing up in Belmont, her mother Rhonda says.

‘‘Esther’s always been full of beans and a real chatterbox,’’ Mrs Anderson said. ‘‘She’s always been a bubbly person and we love to have her around. She has an infectious laugh and she hasn’t changed since she’s got older, she’s still happy.’’

Glamour girl Esther, best known for her role as Charlie Buckton on the long-running drama series Home and Away, is a nominee for the silver and gold Logie awards at Australian television’s night of nights on May 2.

And she’s always had a passion for entertaining. ‘‘She was always out there participating in different things,’’ Mrs Anderson said. ‘‘She loved Rock Eisteddfod and she was in that every year in high school. She loved performing and dancing in front of audiences.’’

After completing year 12 at Belmont High School, Esther studied psychology before travelling across Europe with friends. When she returned, Esther began a career in modelling, which took her to Japan six months of the year. And after striding the catwalk for six years, Esther turned her focus to acting and made an immediate impact.

‘‘ Esther’s acting teacher said, ‘ look, you’re good enough. I think you need an acting agent’,’’ Mrs Anderson said. ‘‘Once she had an acting agent, it was a very short time before she got an audition and a part as Charlie Buckton in Home and Away.’’ Within in a week, Esther had packed her bags and moved to Sydney, where she has forged her career.

Golden Moments for Esther
Geelong-grown glamour girl Esther Anderson is nearing her rise from Belmont student to Australian television star. A performer throughout her childhood, Esther worked at McDonald's during her high school years and was school captain at Belmont High school.

Esther's mum, Rhonda, has opened the Anderson family photo album to allow the community to share her journey. It shows Esther as you've never seen her before. There's the curly, blonde-haired toddler, the toothless grinning primary school student, the star of school plays, the blossoming teenager and the McDonald's cashier.

Anderson first worked at McDonald's Belmont as a 15 year-old and was a team leader by age 17. By the time she was old enough to drive, she had saved up enough pocket money to buy her first car. And she was never too far away from the cameras, even at age eight. Esther was captured by photographer Bruce Long as she strolled up a street in Geelong in a raincoat and under an umbrella in 1986.

Currently a policewoman on long-time Australian television series Home and Away, 20 year-old Anderson was always the entertainer. An eight year old Esther and her best friend Simone, often dressed up and performed in front of family and friends.

This passion for acting developed into a career which has spanned more then two years in television. Esther is a nominee for the Silver and Gold Logie award at Australian television's night of nights on may. So Remember to keep voting for Esther in the Race for Gold. Grab your phone and start texting "Esther" to 199 52 900 or simply call 1902 552 901. Every vote helps!

Esther’s mum calls for Gold
Esther's mum has urged all Geelong residents to get texting and vote for her girl. Esther who grew up in Geelong and was captain of her high school, will go head to head with some big name Australian's on May 3rd for the Gold Logie.

Mrs Anderson said she was so proud of her daughter, who is nominated for her role as policewomen Charlie Buckton. ‘‘She has worked so hard at this, she seems pretty natural at acting, she just loves it,’’ Mrs Anderson said. ‘‘But we need everyone in Geelong to get behind her and vote.’’

Mrs Anderson said she had been basking in the excitement of the news but would make a start on voting over the Easter weekend. She’s also encouraging her customers at her Geelong Boutique to get out their phones at vote. ‘‘It has been terrific, I’ve had lots of people coming in the shop saying how great it is,’’ she said. ‘‘She always had that dramatic air about her, she loved doing the rock eisteddfod every year at school."

Remember to keep voting for Esther in the Race for Gold. Grab your phone and start texting "Esther" to 199 52 900 or simply call 1902 552 901. Every vote helps!

Plus, next week Mrs Anderson will share with hometown newspaper a few glimpses at Esther's life. A performer throughout her childhood, Anderson worked at McDonald's during her high school years and was school captain at her High School.

You'll see Anderson as you've never seen her before. There's the curly, blonde-haired toddler, the toothless grinning primary school student, the star of school plays, the blossoming teenager and the McDonald's cashier. Of course, there will also be a healthy smattering of photos of the TV stunner we know today.

Dancing with the Stars
It's not official but there has been lots of talk about it in the past and also most recently at the Good Friday Appeal and even a small mention in a newspaper article.. It seems our girl might be one of the next contestants on Channel 7's Dancing with the Stars. Esther has often shown interest in the past and made several comments on the show including that she loves to watch it.

This past weekend whilst on the panel at the Good Friday Appeal, Esther was asked about Dancing with the Stars and she lightly joked she wanted to call it Dancing with Esther. Let's hope these rumors turn out to be true and we get to see Esther on the dance floor sometime this year. We will definitely be watching and voting for her!

Good Friday Appeal, Hidden Talent & More
The updates have been flooding in over the past few days especially with some new footage from the Good Friday Appeal. It seems Esther's hidden talent was cpatured on video which you can check out HERE. It's rather interesting, weird and unique. I've also added screen caps from the video just to capture the moment.

Also, in the gallery are new photos from the appeal including Esther visiting the hospital with co-star Tessa James to visit some of the sick children. Those kids are just too precious and I know Esther made some of their days very special. Esther was also featured on the front cover of her hometown's local newspaper on the weekend and we also have a new photo which was in another newspaper last week.

Also, remember we are asking all Esther fans in Australia to help vote for the Race for Gold. So if your Australian grab your phone and start texting "Esther" to 199 52 900 or simply call 1902 552 901. Every vote helps!

Cosmopolitan Photoshoot
Esther has ditched her police uniform and revealed a more saucy side showing off her stunning figure in a fashion photo shoot for Cosmopolitan magazine, in stores tomorrow.

"The clothes were fantastic, and very different to my character Charlie's look," Anderson, 30, told The Sunday Telegraph. "It's fun going from a police uniform in Home And Away to getting all dolled up."This was a fun shoot. There was a creative vibe and the whole team really wanted to get some beautiful shots."

Like Gordon, Anderson traveled the world as a model before joining the Channel Seven soap two years ago. Now, the Chadwicks model is one of the most popular stars on Australian television, nominated last week for a Gold Logie Award along side the likes of Ray Meagher, Rebecca Gibney, Adam Hills and Wil Anderson.
